School Community Facilitator
Hello Whittier Families!
I wanted to introduce myself as your School Community Facilitator!
My name is Alfonso Bravo and I was born and raised in Santa Ana, CA. My parents are originally from Michoacan, Mexico. Growing up my mother shared stories about her experience with education. My mother was a teacher back in Mexico, and I wanted to follow in her footsteps and remain in the field of education and one day become a school counselor. I went to California State University, Fullerton in 2020 and I graduated with a B.A. in Human Services with an emphasis in Mental Health. During my undergraduate career, I worked as a college mentor at Katella High School and spent my time volunteering with students with visual impairments at the preschool level.
Since then, I have been a part of Newport Mesa Unified for over 4 years. I worked for the after-school program, Project Kidz Connect, ELPAC, and most recently as a Special Education Instructional Aide with Cloud Campus. As I continue my journey through K-12 education, I am so excited to transition into this new role that aligns with my goal to become a school counselor.
For now, I am determined to work on my professional development and serve my community as best I can. I take great pride in being that support system, and it will be my pleasure to be working with you all to best serve you. If you ever need any assistance with translation or interpretation, please do not hesitate to reach out. I am also your point of contact if you need additional resources. Looking forward to having a great year !
Best,
Alfonso Bravo
